QA Services and Specialities

QA Services and Specialities

There are a number of QA services and specialities included in end-to-end localization. While the number of different services can seem daunting at first, there are key differences between each service that means you don’t have to have a quality assurance specialist job just to understand them.

Functional QA (FQA)

Functional quality assurance is a process that ensures localized software runs as expected. Functional qa specialists create test plans which cover:

  • Functional testing
  • Automated testing
  • UI testing
  • Regression testing
  • Localization testing
  • Stress testing
  • Load testing
  • Games testing
  • Certification testing

The functional QA Team at Alpha CRC uses a range of technologies to bring value to clients. This includes tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, Bugzilla and Testrail.

Localization QA

This is a process that ensures localized products work perfectly for all target markets at launch. Localization QA specialists will meticulously scan the content of the product, reporting defects, taking screenshots, and testing all functionality. The localization QA process often involves an additional linguistic review, which ensures that content is accurate and consistent.

Linguistic QA

Linguistic QA ensures that all localized content has been translated accurately. This means confirming that content is clear, without mistakes, in line with style guides, and appropriate. Linguistic QA is recommended for all localization projects, but is particularly recommended for software and applications, documentation and sales collateral.
